High Yield Preparation Method of Thermally Stable Cellulose Nanofibers

چکیده
The preparation of nanocellulose fibers (NFs) is achieved through pretreating cellulose in a NaOH/urea/thiourea solution, and then defibrillating the fibers through ultrasonication, resulting in a high yield of 85.4%. Extensive work has been done to optimize the preparation parameters. The obtained NFs are about 30 nm in diameter with cellulose II crystal structure. They possess high thermal stability with an onset of thermal degradation at 270 o C and a maximum degradation temperature of 370 o C. Such NFs have potential applications in transistors and batteries with high thermal stability. NFs-H were obtained by homogenizing undefibrillated fibers separated from the preparation of NFs. NFs-H were also in cellulose II crystal form but with lower thermal stability due to low crystallinity. They can be applied to make highly transparent paper.

Aqueous counter collision using paired water jets as a novel means of preparing bio-nanofibers.
This study involved a detailed investigation of a novel approach to reducing naturally occurring cellulose fibers into nanofibers solely by the use of aqueous counter collision (ACC) without any chemical modification. In this process, equivalent aqueous suspensions of cellulose are ejected from dual nozzles and collide at high speed and pressure. Even a few repetitions of the collision process ...

The main objective of this search was to prepare novel soluble polyureas with improved thermal stability. Accordingly, a new types of polyureas was prepared through the polycondensation reaction of a prepared diamine containing ether, keto, and naphthyl groups with 4,4’-diphenylmethan diisocyanate (MDI), toluene-2,4-diisocyanate (TDI), and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) in N-methyl-2-pyrrol...
متن کاملAn Alternative Method for Synthesis of Thermally Stable Aromatic Polyesters Containing Schiff Base Unites
In this paper, an efficient method for synthesis of aromatic polyesters containing schiff base units is described by preparation of two polyesters. These polyesters have been prepared by the reaction of terephthaloyl dichloride on Schiff bases derived from p-hydroxybenzyldehyde and 4,4-diamino diphenyl ether, 4,4-diamino diphenyl methane. The Polymers were characterized by IR, CHNS, thermal...
متن کاملStructural Characterization and Modifications of Surface-oxidized Cellulose Nanofiber
Plant cellulose has a hierarchical structure with hemicelluloses and lignin in cell walls, forming natural composites at the nanometer/micrometer levels. The smallest elements next to cellulose molecules are cellulose microfibrils ~3 nm and several microns in width and length, respectively (Fig. 1). Each cellulose microfibril consists of 30-40 fully extended cellulose chains, and forms crystall...
